Microsoft 365 / Entra ID Group / License Filtering

Limit which Microsoft 365 / Entra ID users are synced with ConnectWise Manage based on group membership or assigned license. This feature is typically intended for either a multi-company tenant but you wish to only sync a single company of the tenant or the tenant has a sub-group of users you wish to ignore, such as students or outside consultants.

This option is available when syncing only Microsoft 365 / Entra ID.  OU Filtering is used if Active Directory is involved.

Once you have a customer configured in ConnectActive for syncing, you can now choose to enable ConnectActive's Filtering option. When applied, ConnectActive will only sync users to ConnectWise Manage if the user is included under the selected groups or licenses. All other contacts that already exist under the specific ConnectWise Manage Company while be deactivated.

1. From the ConnectActive page, click on the company's "Settings" link.
   
2. Select the tab labeled "Filtering"
3. For each Group whose members you wish to include in your sync, enable its checkbox.
4. For each License whose members you wish to include in your sync, enable its checkbox.
5. Return to the top of the page and click on the "Perform Sync" button.
6. Click on the "Proceed to Final Review Page" and then click on the "COMMIT" button.  ConnectActive will then perform a full sync and update assigned Site addresses based on Group and/or License membership.  The contacts in ConnectWise Manage will be updated automatically each time a group or license membership is changed.
