License Mapped Additions

Once you have a customer configured in ConnectActive for syncing, you can now choose to enable ConnectActive's Microsoft 365 License Agreement Addition syncing feature. This feature will update an Agreement Addition count in ConnectWise Manage under the company's Agreement in ConnectWise Manage based on the number of users assigned an Office 365 license. It can also include the list of users covered for invoicing.

Setup

  1. From the ConnectActive page, click on the company's "Agreements" link.
  2. Select the tab labeled "Agreement" and then select "Microsoft 365 License Mappings"
  3. Ensure the checkbox "Enabled Office 365 License Sync" is enabled.
  4. ConnectActive will then display all the customer's active assigned licenses. For licenses you do not wish to sync, such as no cost licenses, enable their "Ignore this License" checkbox.
  5. For the remaining licenses you wish to sync with ConnectWise Manage, please follow the next two steps below for each.
  6. Set the Invoice Options for the Agreement Addition. The default includes just "Include Names on Invoice". (options below)
  7. Below Invoice Options, ConnectActive will list the available Agreement Additions for the company. Select the Agreement Addition you wish to map the Office 365 licensed against.
  8. Once you have mapped or ignored all active licenses, return to the top of the page and click on the "Perform Sync" button.
  9. Click on the "Proceed to Final Review Page" and then click on the "COMMIT" button. ConnectActive will then perform a full sync and update all the mapped Office 365 licenses to their ConnectWise Manage Agreement Addition. The Agreement Addition will be updated automatically each time change a license change is made in Microsoft 365.

 

Invoice Options

Top Comment (Optional)
When updating the Agreement Invoice description to include invoice names, ConnectActive will clear out the existing description and insert the product description followed by the invoice names. If you wish to include a custom Top Comment for the Agreement Addition, you may provide one.

Include Names on Invoice
You can choose whether to include the list on names covered under the Agreement Addition. If there are fewer than 50 names, the list will be "new line" delimited. For 50 and over, the list will be comma delimited.

Use Email Addresses instead of Names on Invoice
By default, ConnectActive uses the first and last names of the users for the invoice. Alternatively, you can select to use the email addresses of the users for the invoice rather than first and last names.

Honor Agreement Off Flag
Use case: When your MSP needs to include an MSP user under the tenant's license but you do not wish to charge the client for the MSP needed account. By default, ConnectActive will set the Agreement Addition count to the total number of licenses, regardless if any of the users have been flagged as "Agreement Off" in ConnectActive.
If you do not wish to bill a customer's "Agreement Off" users for their licenses, check the "Honor Agreement Off Flag" checkbox. Keep in mind, Microsoft will still charge for these licenses.

Exclude Unassigned Licenses from Count
By default, ConnectActive will set the Agreement Addition count to the total number of licenses, regardless if any of the licenses have not been assigned. If you do not wish to bill this customer for unlicensed subscriptions, check the "Exclude Unassigned Licenses from Count" checkbox. Keep in mind, Microsoft will still charge for the unassigned subscriptions.

Limit to Filtered Users
Use case: A multi-tenant environment where you wish to limit the Microsoft Licenses to a specific sub-tenant.
If Unchecked, ConnectActive will add all users found within the Group, License or OU against the Agreement Addition.
If Enabled and you have applied OU or Group Filtering to this company's sync, ConnectActive will only include members found within the Group, License or OU that are also included in the company's filtering.

Minimum Addition Count
Some MSPs have a required minimum count for certain Agreement Additions. The ConnectActive default is 0. If you wish to set a minimum count on an Agreement Addition, set a positive number value in the "Minimum Addition Count" field.
